This past weekend Victor, Jon and I went to Anime Supercon in Ft. Lauderdale. It was a blast. I think the cast did a really good job of putting everything together. The smashbros show was actually really cute. God all I can say is Naurto cosplay is getting old.

My favorite aspect was definitely getting to see April Stewart. I love south park soo much! I have watched every episode since day one...back in 6th grade when I wasn't even allowed to watch it hehehe.
The Aqua teen guys were awesome too. I had seen Master Shake last year along with Space Ghost and were excited they came back. Power Rangers did not excite me lol.

The music guest were for the most part amazing. I loved Lisa Furukawa and of course Select Start is one of my favorite bands. GOD Emergency Pizza Party you suck!

So anyways Jon won the pocky eating contest round one, but lost in round 2. I'm putting video online so if anyone wants to see it post a comment and I'll link it to you. Jon is the master at shoving things in his mouth. XD

A group of people from FGCu drove up and met us there on Saturday from the anime club. I wish we could have spent more time with Jeff. Next time...

So we stayed all three days. It was a lot more fun for me than the last con. Mainly because we actually stayed in the hotel this time and also because we cosplyed this time.

So this was our first attempt at making costumes. They weren't extemely complicated, but they got a lot of attention.

Everyone loved the pika char combo. We got lots of pics and lots of hugs! I was worried pokemon was a played out thing, but I guess since the fad is over its cool now. I wanted to make a costume everyone would know and not be from Nautro!

The tokyo mew mew costume was actually really hard to make. It was the first costume we worked on and the tail alone took 5 hours to make. I got asked by a lot of people how I got it to stand up like that. In the anime Ichigo's tail is usually standing up so I took it on as a challenge to make mine stand up too. We tried a coat hanger, but it wasnt strong enough so we got a metal rod from Lowes and bent it, cut it and hooked it over my skirt. We had to bend in into an S shape for the tail and then into a T like shape to get the tail not to move back and forth. Both of us are really weak so it was very difficult. The entire Ichigo costume was made by hand without a pattern at all. I am proud of it seeing as its my first costume.

I wore the dark Chii costume the 3rd day. I brought both Chii costumes with me, but decided to wear the dark one since my other two costumes were so bight and happy;p

Overall the weekend was awesome and was a well needed break before final exams.

I have a take home real analysis exam that is going to take quite a while!
Woo for being a Math major and getting crazy exams.

Only one more semester and then I start my Masters in Math XD

I'm getting an mp3 player but don't know much about them. Does anybody have any opinion on brands or types? I have about 12gb of music, but I don't care if it plays video. I just want it to support most music types. Drop and drag would be nice, but I think most players make you install software and use it like Itunes. I think ipod nano is too small. Maybe the 8gb one is ok, but you can pay $250 and get a 30gb video one. Same price..god flash memory is expensive. Creative Zen also makes a 30gb one, but nobody I know has that brand. I don't want to spend more than 250$. Any help is appriciated.

School is over and now I am waiting to go to Mayo Clinic and hope the find something this time.
We leave sunday. It's going to be sooo cold up there.

I'm pretty sure I got all A's this semester. All of my grades are posted except band. If I don't get an A in band I can't wait to tell him what I really think of the music program. This is the most awful and embarasssing concert by far I have ever played in.

Fucking Disgusting Computer Science Major

Fucking Disgusting Computer Science Major is the reason that you don’t want to go to class. He bathes roughly once every leap year and wears the same "totally awesome" Japanese video game (the import version was so much better) shirt for half a semester at a time. No matter how far away you get from him, the stench seems to travel across the room and assault your nostrils. Fucking Disgusting Computer Science Major has no time for the English language, and he will often ask questions that make little to no sense and lack any sort of "grammatical structure." He’s the only character that can actually give Silent Foreign Curve Destroyer a run for his money on the intellectual scale, but that’s only because he was probably born with knowledge of linear algebra and differential equations.

The Anime Freak

Anime Freak is somewhat of a rarity outside of computer science and/or Japanese courses. However, you still might encounter one in some humanities cores. The Anime Freak will always be wearing button down shirts with a dragon or some kind of Dragonball Z character on it. Also, anything with Japanese writing on it is always cool in the eyes of Anime Freak, even if it makes absolutely no sense. Do not approach the Anime Freak outside of class, unless you want to run into a situation like this:

I know barely anybody reads or writes in this anymore..but I'm in pain and can't sleep.

Thing are going good.. as usually except health wise. Started having bladder problems a month ago and had to have a nasty procedure done last week on our day off from school..

noo i am not peeing myself...Thank God.. but just as bad.. i cant seem to go on my own and I feel like I have to go ALL day and all night. Not sleeping too well b/c of it.. hence the reason i am writing at this hour.

School isgoing great. Teaching another class this semester and Vic and I are tutoring as well.

We finally moved in our apartment and finished decorating.

too much math and too many medical tests!!!

Just got back from Mayo AGAIN! I swear I'm not getting a break this summer. I lost feeling and use of my left hand for 3 weeks and lost more vision. They did an EMG(the test where they shock you and stick needles in your muscles) and found a lesion near my elbow. It should heal completely, but it will take a while. The reason I was so sick and in so much pain is b/c my adrenal glands weren't working. After being on oral steroids for so long they basically just stopped making cortosol and when I stopped the oral steroids after four months my body went into shock. They still don't know what's wrong with my eyes. I have to go back in 6 months so they can rescan my entire body for cancer and check my antibody levels. No immunosuppresants yet yay! The neuroimmunologist reccommended I start a heavy duty medication call Cellcept. It basically kills your entire immune system and stops it from attacking what it shouldn't be...mainly my optic nerves. However, the other doctors at Mayo feel it is too soon to do this to me. There is too much risk that goes with these drugs. I wouldn't be able to have kids most likely and the chances of me developing cancer on ths within 5 years is 1/100...oh and i would get infections like crazy:( I was there for 9 days this time. They did so many freakin tests on me... but I did get to go to the mall of america this time. It was awesome. 520 stores, 4 stories, an amusement park in the middle, an aquarium on the bottom floor, and over 50 places to eat. I missed vic so much while I was in MN. This was the first time in 2 years we had been apart even for a day! We talked everyday on the phone, but it was still very hard. I should be back to my normal mood soon. I dunno somedays I just feel like I wanna cry and others I feel really pissy. They put me back on oral steroids and I'm slowly lowering the doses by 1 mg at a time until my body starts making its own horomone again, but omg it's killing me to go on and off and lower like this. They told me it would affect my mood and most likely my weight. I haven't gained any weight, but I can tell my mood is like weeeeeeeeee.

Summer school is going well but I'm sooo sick of math. I just got done with advanced prob and stat with calc now I'm taking abstract algebra. I can't wait for anatomy in the fall! This week it will be two years for victor and I.
June 28th XD YAY! Must celebrate.

Oh and I'm 21 now woooo..I don't drink but I can buy multiple R rated tickets at the movies lol.

Vic and I want to go up to G-ville very soon. Prob second weekend in July.

ok home now...and very tired . At least the spinal fluid didnt leak this time.

I'm really glad to be home. The doctors say I can come off steroids and see what happens.

Unfortunately since they don't know what's causing the inflammation in my nerves they cannot treat it or predict what will happen to my vision.

I guess it wasn't the worse news I could get. There is only a 15% chance I will develope MS in the next 5 years and I don't have some weird disease that we know of..so I havent heard back from the GI tests yet, but we will see.

I'm tired and but very pleased with my grades this semester.

Discrete Math - A
Regressional Analysis- A
Senior Seminar in Math- A
Microbiology and lab - A

YAY both Victor and I got straight A's. That brings my GPA up to a 3.74.
Victor took 6 classes and got all A's. We both worked really hard.

This week we have to find an apartment.

I'll post more when I'm not half sleeping...we both slept over 15 hours last night and are still tired.

I HATE SPINAL TAP MORE THAN ANYTHING!

and why why??? The doctors don't even want to see me until the tap is done.

Mayo Clinic update

Just a warning...This is a long medical update so don't read if you don't care about my medical stuff.;p

I've been at Mayo for three days now and I'm so scared. I knew this was a big deal ,but I didn't know it was going to involve so much. We were planning on leaving Friday morning, but now I have to stay longer for GI exploratory surgery stuff...biopsies of small intestine and such.

Here's what's happened so far.

Monday- Saw top neurologists in the world. They didn't say much except lets see what the eye doctor has to say and they ordered at CAT scan of my chest to check for a particular autoimmune disease. Got blood work done that night.

Tuesday- Had an early morning EMG..that's a test to measure how well my optic nerves conduct signals. Then later on had a CAT scan.

Today(Wed)- today fucking sucked. I want to cry. Victor and lorrie are here with me for support, but I feel so overwhelmed.
Today I had a very early morning visual field test done and then a neuropthamology appointment with one of the best eye doctors in the country. The doctors at Mayo do not fuck around. They are not like normal doctors. The are so intimadating. They question you to no end and don't stop until they get every detail. I feel like I was arrested or something and put in a room for hours on end. I feel like I'm not giving them the answers they want because they keep saying things like no no no I want to know this and here let me help you answer that.

Anyways back on topic...The eye doctor gave me the amswer to why my eyes are like this.. the answer we pretty much already knew..the label right now is "Optic Neuritis of Unknown Origin" ooh dear god great! Optic nerves pale, color vision reduced, field looks like shit..but he said the good news is I can try to drive. YAY! Dont' ask me how. I have no idea and I wasn't about to argue. He said 10% of cases just go unexplained and that it was just something I had to live with, but he said they would try to rule out every cause. I know they will. The treatment for it is steroids..pretty much what I'm on now. The side effects are bad and may not be worth the effect they have in the long run. They speed up recovery, but don't really prevent anything much it seems. They cause severe bone density loss which results in fractures of the spinal column. ...fuck I dunno if id rather be blind!!!

This afternoon is when I started to get upset. I was scheduled for a gastroenterology appointment to find out what is causing all my strange GI symptoms for the last 10 yrs and if it could possibly be related to what is going on with my eyes. I thought this was going to be the easy appointment. I thought he would just look at my stomach and say whats always been said...I just have a sensitive stomach. Instead he got very concerned. He said he was most importantly comcerned with my rapid weight loss despite my increase in food intake. He started naming off all kinds of rare diseases that scared me. He said he wanted a tissue sample from my small intestines and he wanted to scope my stomach and small intestine. That means I have to be put to sleep and no eating for a long time:( He also ordered a nuclear medicine study..I have never heard of this, but they make you eat food with radioactive crap in it while they watch you digest it for 5 hours. He said they put it in eggs ..mmmmmm...I have to go do that tomorrow moring at 7am!! He said he is concerned my food isnt being digested properly and I may be suffering from lack of nutrition. I didn't think my losing weight so fast was a big deal, but last week when I weighed 125lbs that apparently pissed doctors off. I guess being over 5'10'' and having a large bone structure sometimes throws me off as far as keeping track of my weight. I mean most girls my age I would guess weigh around 115-120lbs and thats normal, but apparently that's majorly bad for me. I've been eating like crazy..most of you would be jealous to be able to eat so much and lose weight lol, but I'm losing a good deal of it out the other end each day painfully:(

So tomorrow monring is yummy eggs for breakfast. Then I have to give urine and poop samples so they can do all kinds of horomone studies. No eating or drinking for 18 hours now..ick..They are also considering a metabolic problem as well as autoimmune disease.

Hopefully by the end off the week I will know a bit more. Right now I just have to sit and wait which is the hardest part. On top of all that Victor got sick today:( He must have eaten something bad. He has been so supportive of all this. I know he is doing all of it for me and that means a lot. He even took all his final exams early so he could come. I have an awesome boyfriend:D

If it weren't for him and Lorrie I dunno what I'd do.

Other than that umm yea.. Minnesota had very pretty tulips everywhere and the grass is so green and thick. Nothing like nasty Florida grass.

Well I'll update again hopefully later in the week. I dunno when I'm coming home, but I want it to be over.

Victor is playing Kingdom Hearts II. It'd pretty cool to watch. Wish me luck guys:)

Haven't updated in a while. Everything is going really well. Spring break was fun, except I am stupid and fractured my leg skiing. Vic and I went to Vermont on a ski trip with his parents and I fell within the first half hour >.< lol what else do you expcet from me;p I have to go to physical therapy and I hate it.

My vision is doing pretty ok right now :D:D:D Altho... it is a definite result from taking oral steroids. I am still taking them and may have to long term. They have some very nasty long term side effects such as organ damage, bone softening, ect...but I guess for right now having my vision seems to outweigh those.

Still fucking waiting for the adoption to finish up so I can go to Mayo clinic.

Plans for summer-
Take a couple classes

Spend time relaxing with Victor. His grandparents are leaving for Cape Cod early this year and we get the house to ourselves all summer!

Move into apartment with Victor..We are so sick of sleeping in twin bed in dorm. Yea we go to my house every weekend, but it will be nice to have a place of our own. We get to tour a couple of places next week:D

Stay healthy and hoopefully find some kind of treatment in MN.

Get an internship shawdowing a doctor or volunteer at hospital.

God please I hope I'm driving again soon!

Hang out with friends.

Go to cape cod for a couple weeks during the end of summer...I think all we can stand is 2 weekso_0

School is going well. Have all A's right now. I will definitely get 3 A's this semester. The Grade in senior seminar might be a B.

Tyler is failing math! NOOOO not my brother failing math. What a slacker he is right now. He is as smart as I am, but hes fucking lazy and not doing well in school. I know it's only 6th grade, but still.
His dad just got a nasty divorce from his stepmom and he's having a really hard time with it. He has lost two mommies now:(

Go see Sliter hehe it combines all the awesome elements of several types of movies.

Ohh and I think the movie "Frogs" is possibly the worst movie ever made.
